Now Recruiting: Youth Board Members
We’re excited to announce a call for two Indigenous youth to join the Board of Directors for the Indigenous Gathering Place Society of Calgary.
At the heart of our vision is a purpose-built, Indigenous-led gathering space — a place to heal, share, celebrate, and connect. We know that youth are not only our future, but our present. Elders carry knowledge that must be passed on, and youth carry that knowledge forward. We want you at our table.
We’re not defining youth by age or title — if you know or identify as a young person and are passionate about Indigenous culture, community leadership, and shaping something powerful, this could be a great fit.
As a youth Board member, you’ll:
Participate as a full and equal voice on our Board of Directors
Help lead engagement with Indigenous youth in Calgary
Learn from Elders and community leaders
Build skills in strategy, planning, community development, and more
Play a central role in bringing the Indigenous Gathering Place to life
Location: Moh’kinsstis (Calgary, AB) — with virtual and in-person options
Commitment: 2 years
If you know a young person who might be a good fit — or if you see yourself in this vision and want to learn more — we invite you to check out the posting and apply online here
If you have questions, please contact: Theodora Warrior Healy, Board of Directors at theodora@warriormoccasins.ca
We can’t wait to welcome the next generation of leaders.
